Dear John Patrick:
We have reviewed your
Early Decision application for admission to Washington University.
After a careful review of the information you submitted, the Admissions
Committee has chosen to defer a final decision.
We want to learn more about your credentials from
mid-year grades, additional test scores, and any other information that
you would like to make available to us as the year progresses.
You are released from your Early Decision
commitment, and we will fully reconsider your application this spring
for final notification on April 1. Please do not view this interim
decision as discouraging. We feel it is to your advantage and ours to
have further information to give your application the complete
consideration it deserves.
I appreciate your enthusiastic interest in
Washington University. I hope that you will contact me or another
member of the admissions staff if you have questions.
I realize that the college selection process can be
unsettling at times. I hope that you will be patient with us as our
selection of Washington University’s Class of 2011 continues. I wish
you the best of luck with the remainder of your senior year.
Sincerely,
Julie M. Shimabukuro
Director of International Recruitment

I love thee to the depth and breath and height
